Setting up a custom Domain and Sub-Domain for Standalone Restaurant Websites

If you would like to have a custom URL/Domain for your Restaurant partners free website, there are a couple of different ways you can accomplish this.

You can have it semi-custom with the prefix of your delivery service for example:
”www.yourdeliverservice.com/restaurant/YourRestaurantPartner

OR

You can buy a full length domain from GoDaddy, Vixx or any other popular Domain seller platform, but this approach will require some additional steps.

All your restaurant partners will automatically be assigned a number (Sub-Domain) for their “Standalone Site” which you can find under their Restaurant Profile in your admin backend.
Under that tab you can also change their number (Sub-Domain) to something custom as seen in the picture below.

If you choose to purchase a full Domain you will have to “point” that domain to your desired website as seen in the “OPTION 2” in the picture below.

First you will copy the EXACT name of the Domain for example www.test-restaurant.com and submit it to our team after which you will need to complete Step 2, please visit this link in order to learn how to add an
“A Record” https://www.godaddy.com/help/add-an-a-record-19238 , if you are using a different provider the setup is most likely similar but please make sure you check that provider’s material to verify you complete this process correctly in order for the domain to function as intended.

Option 1: Subdomain Default

This is the easiest way for you to set up your Standalone Restaurant Website. By default, the website will use a subdomain based on your project's title within RDSLogic. This method requires no additional configuration on your part.

The website URL will default to your client's URL, followed by a unique identifier for your restaurant (the "Restaurant ID"). This ID can be customized to a name of your choice. For example, if your Restaurant ID is 47 or you choose "StLouisSandwichShack", your website will be hosted at the following URL: https://sud.rdslogic.com/restaurant/47 or https://sud.rdslogic.com/restaurant/StLouisSandwichShack

To set up the Subdomain Default:

  1. Navigate to the 'Standalone Site' tab in your Restaurant Profile.

  2. Input or modify the "Restaurant ID" to your desired custom value in the 'Subdomain' field.

  3. Click on 'Save SubDomain'.

Option 2: Custom Domain

If you'd prefer to use your own custom domain for your Standalone Restaurant Website, you can do so through the 'Standalone Site' tab in your Restaurant Profile.

Step 1: Add Your Domain Name

  1. In the 'Add Your Domain Name' box, enter the domain you'd like to use. Please double-check your spelling!

  2. Click on 'Add Domain' to send a request to our team. We'll begin processing your domain configuration on our end.

Please Note: It's essential that you own the domain you wish to use and that the domain is properly configured to point to our servers. If you're unsure, please verify this with your domain registrar before sending the request.

Step 2: Create Two A Records

For your custom domain to properly point to our servers, you'll need to modify your domain's DNS settings. This involves creating two 'A Records' on your domain.

  1. Log in to the admin console of your domain registrar. This is the website where you initially purchased your domain.

  2. Look for an area where you can manage your DNS settings. This is often labeled 'DNS Management', 'Name Server Management', or something similar.

  3. Within your DNS settings, create two new 'A Records' with the following settings:

    Type: A

    Name: @

    Value: 67.225.217.197

  4. Save your changes. Please remember that it may take some time (up to 24 hours in some cases) for these changes to propagate across the internet.
