Ensuring you are properly using Search Engines can greatly help in getting more traffic and more business on a day to day basis and there are many things you can tweak and adjust.

We will go over the general setup, available settings and best practices.

First we will need to be familiar with how SEO terms we use affect the way our pages show up on Google.com and other search engines:

As you can see here:

  • TITLE TAG = Prime Grill Restaurant

  • META DESCRIPTION = Text below the URL

We can “manipulate” and edit these phrases to make them work better for our business.
In the example of a restaurant you can navigate to
RESTAURANTS > LOCATION > RESTAURANT (Prime Grill) > CONTACTS/NOTES/SEO
And here you will be able to edit these phrases or reset them to the default ones our system will automatically inject by pulling information from the INFO tab of that restaurant as seen in the picture below.

IMPORTANT:
Title Tag can be UP TO 60 characters long while
Meta Description can hold UP TO 160 characters

** Meta Keywords USED to be an extremely powerful tool but with changes that Google and other search engines made they are not nearly as important as they used to be so you don’t have to worry about those as much unless you want to maximize your visibility or you’re in a highly competitive delivery area **

We have an automated system that will put a SEO template for you if all the SEO fields are empty.
If you input any information afterwards it will not be overwritten!

If you change something and you’re not sure how to go back just delete all the fields under your
Contacts/Notes/SEO tab and our system will fill all the fields out overnight.

These images are just additional examples to show you how
TITLE TAG and META DESCRIPTION
affect your search exposure.

Once you have all of these restaurant settings done you can move on to the bigger part of this
which is the SEO tab on your admin backend.

This section will let you adjust SEO for all Customer Facing Website pages.
For example if you select the ABOUT_US page that will directly affect
ex. www.yourdomain.com/ABOUT_US
If you select CONTACT_US page will directly affect
ex. www.yourdomain.com/CONTACT_US and so on.

It is VERY important that you at least have something injected in all of these fields if they’re empty because if your SEO is empty Google or any other search engine will read a specific page for example ABOUT_US from top to bottom and will use that to generate a preview before someone click on that page.

Optimizing SEO can greatly increase your visibility and give you an extra push for more traffic and in turn more orders.

One thing that we will mention but not change is the SETTINGS in your admin backend where you can search for the term SEO, this will let you change your PREFIX for all your SEO tabs in a browser, this can lead to a messy and overfilled titles that don’t fit on most screens and we recommend you leave these fields blank because they affect the website as a whole.

LOCATIONAL SEO
Lastly you should always make sure that your “LOCATIONAL” SEO is also tidy.
You will find
2 different section where you can change this:

  1. LOCATIONS > SELECT LOCATION > INFO TAB > SEO NAME

  2. LOCATIONS > SELECT LOCATION > SEO TAB > TITLE / DESCRIPTION / KEYWORDS

Best practices for SEO:

  1. Have a good variety of titles and keywords if you can, variety helps you reach more people.

  2. Always keep an eye on the character limit, remember that Titles are UP TO 60 Characters and Descriptions are UP TO 160 characters.

  3. If you are NOT sure how to handle Restaurant SEO just delete all the field under the Restaurant’s Notes/Contacts/SEO tab and our system will auto-fill what you need the next morning for you.

  4. Page SEO is an important description and you should carefully work fill it out and keep it short and to the point because that will determine if a potential customer will visit your website over the competition in some cases.

  5. DO NOT change the SEO Prefix settings in your admin backend in order to avoid messy looking tabs.
