How to Update Menu Item Name

Go to Menu Items → Select the menu item to update

Scroll down to Pricing → Update price → Click on 'X'



How to Update Menu Item Price and Availability

For quick edits to menu item price/availability, use the Menu Items Bulk Editor function.

Select Organization Location

In the Menu Bulk Editor → Go to Menu Group in which the Item you’d like to edit exists

Find the Item → Update price in the Price Standard column

Update availability in the Available column by unchecking/checking the corresponding box

Note: This will update the base price in your POS. If you have Price Elevation set in the Menu Manager, the elevation percentage will apply to this new base price.


How to Update Modifiers within Modifier Group

Select Modifier Groups →Find Modifier Groups to edit in left-hand column

To add a modifier → Select Add Modifier



Find the modifier to add → Click ‘OK’



To Edit a Modifier, select the Modifier → Select Edit

This will take you to the edit screen for the modifier item → make edits accordingly

To Remove a Modifier, select the “-” next to the modifier you would like to remove



Select Yes to confirm the edit



Updating Item Description and Images

To add menu item descriptions as you would like them to appear online:

Go to respective Items under Menu Items → Scroll to Online Ordering SettingsDescription → Enter description 

To update an item image, go to the Menu Item > Scroll to Extra Information > Choose Image

Upload the Image and Save



How to Set Regular Hours

Note: This needs to be managed from the ItsaCheckmate Portal.

Click on Hours > Click on Regular Hours > Click on Edit > Update the hours as needed 



Update the hours as needed > Click Save >  Click Push to Ordering Platform



How to set Holiday/ Special Hours

Note: This needs to be managed from the ItsaCheckmate Portal.

Click on Hours > Click on Special/ Holiday Hours > Click on Edit > Update the hours as needed

Update the hours as needed > Click Save >  Click Push to Ordering Platform



How to Set Kitchen Prep Time

Note: This needs to be managed from the ItsaCheckmate Portal.

Click on Hours > Click on Kitchen Prep Time > Click on Edit



Update Prep Time minutes > Click on Save > Click on Push to Online Platforms

How to Set Time Specific

Note: If you have integrated Ordering Platforms that allow for time-specific prep time, you will have the option to uncheck the “use default prep times” button, which will expand the days of the week.

Click on Hours > Click on Kitchen Prep Time > Click on Edit > Uncheck Use Default Prep Time



Set Day Prep Time for each day of the week as you like > To set Prep Time based on time of day, check By Time Period:

a) Enter start and end time

b) Set prep time next to that time range

c) Select '+' to add more time ranges for that day

Repeat above steps for each day of the week > Click Save when finished

For Ordering Platforms that do NOT support time-specific prep times, their logo will appear below the Default Prep Time section and will only use the default time which applies to all days of the week. 

For Ordering Platforms that DO support time-specific prep times and for which time-specific prep times are set, their logo will appear below the Time Specific Prep Time section making it easier to distinguish which Ordering Platform is using which type of prep time.

Final Step: Pushing Changes to the Ordering Platforms

Once all updates are made in your SpotOn back end, to update the ordering platforms:

Go to ItsaCheckmate Portal and Click on Push to Online Platform(s). The system will auto-sync every hour and the changes will push to the ordering platforms at that time. 

Note: Our system will only sync if there is a change to the menu and will only push out to the ordering platforms once the sync occurs.

Menu Creation and Initial Setup

Login to SpotOn POS Using Valid Credentials

Use your login credentials to login into the SpotOn POS.



Creating an Item Category/Group

Step 1: Select the Menu Item Groups icon.

Step 2: Click on the sign available at the bottom left corner of the window and add the name of the new Item Category/Group.

Creating a New Item 

Step 1: Select the Menu Item icon.

Step 2: Click on the sign available at the bottom left corner of the window and add the new item’s name.



Setting/Changing Item Price

Set item price in the Pricing section.

Marking an Item as Available or Out of Stock

Scroll within the window and click on Available to have the Item active/enabled or Out of Stock to have the item inactive/disabled in POS/System.

Including/Excluding Menu Item Group from Online Ordering

To EXCLUDE an item from appearing on your online ordering menu – in the Online Ordering Settings section, check the box Exclude from Third Party Ordering
Follow the same steps for Menu Item Groups you wish to Include/Exclude

Adding Description to Item

Scroll down to Online Ordering Settings and enter the description in the description box.
